Rome underground tour from the Basilicas to the Catacombs
Our tour of underground Rome is one of our most unusual and most fascianting
Buried under the ground is where a lot of Rome's history, architecture and art treasures are hidden and our visit will start at the Basilica of San Clemente, a unique lesson in Rome's many-layered history.
It is a Roman house, a pagan temple, an ancient lower Basilica decorated with frescoes and an upper-layer Basilica filled with mosaics.
We also offer a visit to the Bone Church, another unusual experience, to see this macabre yet interesting place, where they used human bones all over to create the decorations.
We will then drive along "the Queen of the Roman roads", the Old Appian Way, to visit the Catacombs, the most ancient monument of Christianity.
