Hadrians Villa near TivoliA visit to the Tivoli near Rome means experiencing wonderful natural beauty and the creations of great minds and artists.

Both can be found by visiting two villas just outside Rome.

Villa D'Este was created for a very powerful Cardinal, Ippolito D'Este, and has luxurious gardens with fountains which are all gravity-powered, a miracle of hydraulic engineering.

Hadrian's Villa was the estate-retreat built by Emperor Hadrian, sprawling over 300 acres, larger than the Vatican State. It is a miniature city and an oversized house at the same time. Villa Adriana combines all the essential attributes of timeless architecture: the romantic set-up, the correspondence of building and landscape and all the elements of construction - arch, wall, column and space. It will give you insight to Emperor Hadrian's life-style and interest in architecture and art during the 2nd century A.D.

Duration: 4 hours with one Villa only  -  Full day with both villas and time for lunch ( 6 to 8 hours )
Transportation required: limo or minivan
