Rome manages to make kids instantly feel part of its daily life, through it's history, art, food and legend. Rome will come alive for children of all ages!
The Bocca della verità is the ancient lie-detector machine. The Colosseum is the prototype of any modern stadium, and the Circus Maximus was the largest horse rack track in the world and still is today!
The tour will continue to the Catacombs. For mysterious reasons, unknown to most adults, the underground holds a particular allure for children and if an alternative to the Catacombs , then we offer a visit to Rome's famous "keyhole", where you squint, look through... and discover a surprise!
A visit to the Bone Church, another unusual experience to see this macabre yet interesting place, where they used human bones all over to create the decorations.
Part of the day will be dedicated to the Vatican because no trip to Rome is complete without visiting it. Don't be afraid of introducing the Vatican to your kids.
The best approach is to concentrate on some highlights in the Museums. Like admire a hand-made tapestry decorated with bees, or look for Italy on a 400-year-old map. Then finally reach the Sistine Chapel and gasp at the huge figures painted by Michelangelo.
St. Peter's Basilica is enormous, as long as two football fields, and the names of shorter churches are all over the floor. Hundreds of columns, statues, a golden skeleton and the real bodies of Popes are all displayed.
We are also including a picture stop at Castel Sant'Angelo. So popular with the children as it combines an ancient tomb, a fortress, a prison, a castle, torture chambers and a museum, all topped by a spectacular view of Rome and the Vatican.
This is a full busy fun day for the kids, but also very interesting for the parents, a great enjoyable, fun way to experience >Rome in full, adding a few stops for Pizza, spaghetti, Gelato...
