Discover Rome and Italy with the best tours

Stephano was very kind. He arrived promptly for the pick-up and drove us all around to the key locations. We had a wonderful pizza dinner with bruschetta then later on, near the Trevi Fountain, took us for the most delicious gelato. He gave us ample time to get photos and gave us a history lesson as well. After a previously full day, this was the ideal way to spend the evening. We expected to be with two other couples but this ended up being a private tour!

We did a full day private tour (4 of us). We were picked up at our hotel right on time and started at the Coliseum with the underground included. When we were dropped off at the Coliseum we were greeted by our tour guide, Marina. She was amazing! She led us around the underground, explaining all the areas and giving us details of the life of a gladiator. We then toured the upper portion of the Coliseum. She knew all the places to take great photos where there weren’t a lot of people. We then went to the Forum and learned even more about life in Ancient Rome. She then took us to a wonderful little restaurant for lunch, off the beaten path so not many tourists. Our driver then picked us up and took us to the Vatican where we toured the museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basillica. Again Marina was amazing! Unbeknownst to the rest of us, one of the people in our group tried to stump her with questions and she always knew the answer. At the end of the day the driver picked us up and took us back to the hotel. Amazing day!!

This tour was a wonderful experience in the Trastavere neighborhood of Rome, which felt out of the tourist areas and made the experience feel more authentic. The neighborhood is vibrant and bustling, and the walking (which we did quite a lot of) played a huge part in the enjoyment. But the food-wow! We tried two different kinds of pizza, one with potatoes on it (yummy!). So, so good. We tried an unusual battered and fried spaghetti on a stick, which was a delicious appetizer. We had an interesting street food that was some sort of fried popover with cheese at the center. We stopped at a delicatessen with amazing roasted pork and prosciutto. We dined at a Trattoria that served us an amazing pasta dish with wine (most of our group doesn't drink but it was available). The final course- delicious gelato done authentically (not the poofy gelato with air pumped into it for tourists). Our guide was a young man with great enthusiasm for all the foods and made the evening so much fun. If you are going to Italy you must do at least one food tour like this. We did another food tour in Verona which was very different from this one but both incredibly informative and fun. Foods tours are a great change of pace from the history/museum/archaeological tours, and I highly recommend this one!

During our visit to Rome we toured Vatican City with Christina and the Colosseum/Forum with Erturk and we could not imagine a better experience! We were met at our hotel by the guides who were kind, personable and extremely knowledgeable! They taught us about more than the places on our tours, they gave us valuable information about Italian culture as well as practical tips to assist us during our visit. We would definitely give them 5 stars!

This was my wife’s and I’s first time in Rome and our first time experiencing a private personal tour with priority entrance. Our tour was on June 8, 2023. This is the way to see the Colosseum and Forum otherwise you really missing out walking around yourself. Our guide was Suzanna Mariani for this fabulous tour of the historic Colosseum and Roman Forum. She is an expert guide with a degree in ancient history. She was absolutely passionate about what she shared and pointed out along the way, in particular she had charts that illustrated what the ruins looked like when they were truly standing which brought the ruins to life.
