Tour Description
Discover the romantic charm of the Eternal City with our private Rome by night tour. See Rome’s most important sites in a different light, as the twilight intensifies their beauty. This tour will take you right into the heart of the Campus Martius (Field of Mars). Once the marching grounds for the Roman legions, this area is now the beating pulse of Rome’s historic center.
Luxury shops, bars, and apartments line the center’s cobbled streets, which wind and bend to bring you face to face with Baroque monuments. On this tour, we’ll visit the iconic Spanish Steps, experience the Trevi Fountain once the day’s crowds have dispersed, stumble upon the Pantheon – ancient Rome’s best-preserved temple – and explore Piazza Navona and its world-famous fountains.
Start your Rome by Night tour gazing up at the Spanish Steps
Beautifully illuminated in the cool glow of the night, the balustrades and balconies of the Spanish Steps are truly a sight to behold. It’s at night that this area truly comes to life – not with the noisy bustle of the day’s tourist crowds but with the vibrant atmosphere of stylish locals who come here to hang out.
View the Trevi Fountain in peace
Made internationally famous through Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, the Trevi Fountain is perhaps Rome’s most famous Baroque monument. For good reason does its flowing facade attract so many tourists, but come here during the day and the fountain can be hard to appreciate. That’s why we love exploring Rome by night, when the crowds have mostly gone and you can enjoy the flow and din of the fountain’s waters in peace.
Come face to face with the Pantheon
Ancient Rome’s almost perfectly-preserved Pantheon is one of the Eternal City’s most popular attractions. Dating from the 2nd century AD and since converted into a church, it boasts a history spanning the early emperors to the last king of Italy. Your private guide will bring this monument to life, regaling you with its captivating story
Explore the monuments of Piazza Navona
This curiously shaped piazza – whose history your expert guide will fully elucidate – is the site of some of the greatest masterpieces of Bernini and Borromini. The ancient Egyptian obelisk jutting from its center is embedded into Bernini’s beautiful Fountain of the Four Rivers: one of the most elaborate monuments in Rome.
We end in the open-air market of Campo de’ Fiori, where you can absorb the local atmosphere. The area is filled with shops, restaurants, and stalls of food and flowers. There’s no better place to end your tour than in the beating heart of the historical center.
Customize your Rome by Night tour with an aperitivo
No Rome by Night tour would be complete without stopping off at a local wine bar for an aperitivo. Should you wish to add this optional extra, our guide can arrange your aperitivo in one of the center’s best-loved, authentic bars. Let us know if you would like to add this, and indulge in some of Italy’s most reputed regional wines accompanied by some traditional Roman snacks, ranging from simple yet delicious supplì to mouthwatering fried artichokes.
To cover more sites, we can provide you with your own private golf-cart and driver at an additional cost.

Then we walked through the market to pick out some of the ingredients, the meats and such. Then we went back to their excellent small group kitchen. We had a wonderful time learning from Sara. She taught us to make ravioli and saltimbocca and tiramisu. It was fun and relaxed and extremely delicious. We thought the whole experience was splendid. 10 out of 10. read less - 9/26/2022

We got to try a ton of different food and even returned to one of the restaurants later in the week. The tour groups are kept small, so our group easily got to know each other throughout the tour. We were especially pleased with how accommodating it was: My fiance is a vegetarian and can be a bit of a picky eater, so he had low expectations going in and this ended up being his favorite activity all week! We actually had a couple of vegetarians in our group and there was always an equally hearty substitute whenever necessary. Super pleased with this experience and with Luca! Best part of our week! read less - 9/21/2022

A great evening with plenty of incredible local food and drink and a really good way to meet and get to know other travellers. The small group size made it much more personal and conversation flowed all evening! Sara (our guide) was absolutely amazing - so friendly and chatty, and so full of knowledge about the local food and Rome/Trastevere's history. She could not have been better.
I'll be coming back to Rome and will definitely be booking this again. Thank you so much, Sara, for making my first trip to Rome that much better! read less - 9/21/2022 - mrsmac0912Delicious food from fabulous foody Luca Boccia was PHENOMENAL!

This was my third time to the Vatican but this time I took my adult/teen children and wife and we used a tour guide. It was a small group of 9. Just 2 families. She was great. She does this 4 days a week and all the guards knew her by name. If you want to see the Sistine Chapel, then you have to go early. We were one of the first to enter and with her connections basically did not wait on anything. We also entered a section in the Vatican Museums usually off limits to the public, a section with many animal statues and other mosaics. She gave us so much history and culture. My children said it was AP World History made real. You could tell she truly loved what she did. read less - 8/29/2022

It was a very hot summer day and she always looks for ways to give us the information under the shade before we went into the sun. I highly recommend this company and Martha as well. It was very easy to make the reservation and pay. We took the private tour and was perfect. 3 hours that feel like Half hour . We didn’t do any limes to get into the places. Know that if you go by yourself or in other yours you could be up to 2 hours under the sun to get into the coliseum or forum. I highly recommend the private tour. read less - 8/05/2022
